I was reading a paper on what was supposed to be theological differences between the ELCA and Missouri Synod - instead what I found was a sort of tearing apart of what the ELCA believes. No comparison and nothing of what the Missouri Synod believes - unless of course the intent is to simply say the Missouri Synod believes different, or the opposite.
The paper read like a presidential campaign. I can tell you enough about what's wrong with him it doesn't really matter what I am.

You are correct that the paper presumes the reader (or audience) is familiar with the LC-MS doctrine and practice and is unfamiliar with the ELCA. The introduction to the paper indicates that it was requested and originally delivered to the Topeka/Lawrence Kansas circuit, which is a group of LC-MS pastors. Sorry that point was not clear. If you are only troubled by the lack of a point of comparison, I suspect the issues involved are new to you, and you should brush up on them - say by asking questions on the Edify and Confess email list. There are people there who will gladly fill in the gaps in your knowledge.

Thank you so much for this site. In a day and age when everyone is going contemporary, and forgetting so much, it is refreshing to find a site like this.
